Hello everyone!

Aqui vai o texto de hoje para prática de compreensão de texto em inglês - é uma conversa sobre cidades grandes e pequenas. Which one do you think is the best? Depois, vem palavras e expressões inglesas explicadas, e no final um quiz.

Leia o texto:

(Teresa) I enjoy São Paulo. There’s so much more to do here!
(Paula) Yes, I know. But I still prefer small towns. There’s too much traffic in São Paulo!

(Teresa) True, but there isn’t enough to do in small towns. There’s no traffic, but there’s nowhere to go!
(Paula) What? No way! You can always get together with friends, go out for a drink, see a movie… Besides, there’s too much pollution in the big city, and everything is so expensive!

(Teresa) Yes, I agree that stuff is more expensive in the big city. I love going to restaurants though, and there aren’t enough restaurants and bars in small towns.
(Paula) Well, there’s a pretty good cooking school where I live. Wanna join the class?

Vocabulário:

No way! = de jeito nenhum!
besides = além disso
stuff is more expensive (bem informal) = ‘as coisas’ são mais caras
…though = no entanto (sempre usado no fim da sentença)
pretty good = muito bom/boa
Wanna join…? = maneira informal de perguntar ‘Do you want to join…?’ (Quer se juntar? / Quer vir também?)
