Compreensão de texto: Filling in for Jon Anderson of Yes
“Two weekends ago, Benoit David sang Yes songs with Close to the Edge, a tribute band he has fronted for 14 years.
Now he’s rehearsing with the real Yes, preparing for a tour that begins next week.
Bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White asked David to fill in for singer Jon Anderson, whose respiratory ailments forced the band to cancel a planned 40th-anniversary tour this summer.
“They asked me to do the singing for now,” says David, 42, of Montreal, who also operates a business repairing car and boat interiors. “Everybody hopes that Jon gets well as soon as possible and comes back.”
Like Journey and Judas Priest before them, the Yes members found their fill-in with a band already playing their songs. A friend of Squire’s suggested David after seeing live clips online.”
